Mercedes-Benz is marking 140 years since Carl Benz built the world’s first automobile - and they’re celebrating in style with a seriously upgraded S-Class, the flagship that’s long defined luxury and innovation.

More Than Just a Refresh

This isn’t a small facelift - over half of the components are new or reworked, bringing fresh design, top-tier tech, and next-level comfort to the sedan everyone watches.

  • Striking new presence: the grille is ~20 % bigger, and for the first time you can add an illuminated star on the bonnet that gives real visual flair at night.

  • Light tech that leads: new Digital Light twin-star headlights with micro-LEDs expand the illumination field and improve visibility.

  • Super-smart digital heart: Mercedes’ new MB.OS acts like a central “supercomputer” tying infotainment, driving assists and more into one ecosystem - and it stays up to date with over-the-air updates

  • MBUX Superscreen with AI: screens for driver, front passenger and rear passengers make interaction intuitive, with AI-powered assistants and natural voice commands.

  • Rear cabin like a mobile office: optional first-class rear seating with dual displays, video conferencing and lounge-style space turns the S-Class into more than just a car.

Comfort and Safety That Matter

Inside and out, comfort and wellbeing get serious attention. Heated seatbelts, advanced air filtration, digital vent control, and a suspension system that predicts bumps make every journey smoother.

Safety is boosted too, with up to 15 airbags and intelligent driver-assist systems that keep peace of mind at the core of the experience.

A Global Celebration

To honour 140 years of automotive impact, Mercedes-Benz launched a “140 Years. 140 Places.” convoy - a 50 000 km journey across six continents, celebrating with fans, customers and owners everywhere.

From iconic design and standout tech to ultra-comfort and safety, the updated S-Class shows that tradition and innovation can still go hand in hand. It’s a great reminder that true luxury isn’t just about status - it’s about thoughtful engineering and experiences that elevate every drive.
